here again

so i'm back at the amazing, 10 mins from the beach ( a famous surf beach), none camp like, redwood surrounded , 2 starbucks and a petes 5 mins away, camp red wood glen!
i love being here, especially this time since i'm just a guest staff and not running a full on camp. Although, i loved music camp but none the less.  i also love my little 'home' i have here. i feel very blessed...
lately i have been really missing maine though. i love the pacific ocean and the coast here! it's like nothing i have ever seen before however, all that comes with the new england way of life... i miss real 'country' that's close to the coast and ocean. but, i believe that's a good thing. it's good to love and miss where you have come from i think it means that you have had a good life.
so i'm here at a beautiful place and plan on using every part of it...

Thursday

I know it's been a while since i have posted last. I think  I have been contemplating what I have wanted to make of this 'blog'. I have been reading so many blogs lately, well not so many but I have been dandering. Most blogs have a purpose, most of them show pictures of peoples kids/families; some talk about specific tops, others are women who knit and sew and paint and decorate and cook etc, one even is a person who literally spews her every emotion regardless of whom it may affect there for the world wide web to see. I don't have children, I have a dog but i mean.. i cook and paint my house and decorate but I don't have time to show every little thing I buy/change make for dinner. And you better believe I'm not about to put my deep feelings out there for people to read.... so whats the point? I do live across the country from most of my friends and family so I could keep everyone posted with pictures and such but wouldn't you know my camera is broken....so i think i will be a mixture of all of the above. who wants consistency really?
so it's almost a year since i have left the home I've known and have started life in san francisco. have i mentioned that i love it here. although today, i wanted nothing more then to hit a back country road in NH and just drive. my heart actually ached for the country. now, some say there is country here in CA but it's not the same. but don't we always ache for things we can't have instantly?
so decorating: i re-did my bathroom in past few weeks.. so here are two pictures of that:
this is the curtain:

and here's the picture:

we are getting ready for music and worship arts camp. very excited for that! it's the first time in my life that i have felt excited. mostly i tend to feel dread... ha.  But this year it just feels exciting.
So that's the mini update on my life. as for the the sharing of my deep emotions and feelings, I'm so not there yet..
ok that's it love and peace.

sunshine, ocean, breeze....

so yesterday i sat with a friend and watched the ocean for a long while. i love how when you let go and stop trying to control ( not easy) every detail of your life including sunday afternoons God give you exactly what you need... so i am so grateful for the deep and funny conversation with a good friend and the ice cream and the ocean, even the crazy kids splashing in ocean water that probably was below 60 degrees and the sun kissed forehead i now have and the breeze...

spring!

i have to admit i laughed when everyone says, yeah it spring.. because seriously it's always spring in san francsico.. i think that's truly the best way to describe the weather here.. it's spring, warm days, rainy days, chilly days, foggy day and then the cycle continues not necessarily in order...
life has been busy this 'spring' but it's all good. the newest thing, i bought new sneakers and am looking forward to taking mork for a walk this evening. OHHH , and thanks to a friend, was made to realize that there is a trader joe's close to my house...so i can't wait to visit there this afternoon too.
other wise things are you know normal.. i'm still blond with dark finger nails.. with crazy life changing ideas.. i laugh and cry and smile and get excited.. so yeah.. it's life as i've know it... whatever that means : )

2 weeks (ish)

So Christmas and New Years are completed for another year and 2011 has already begun. I have been struggling with posting anything on my blog for several reasons... But I have decided I would press on and just go for it.
I had a wonderful nearly 2 weeks at 'home' in Centeral New York. ( not western or upstate...be sure of that) ha. Ithaca proved to be a great place to spend the time needed to 'rest' and re-collect myself. I love that God plans every detail of our lives. The reasons why my parents were sent there are obvious for both them and the corps family. But, sometimes as we forget that we can benefit from things like this. For me, it's the perfect contrast from my new adventure of SF city living. I forgot how much I love the country, eastern style. No offensive, but the west here, your idea of farm land.. you can keep it. Give me my green (white with snow) rolling hills ( bumps) and frost heaved roads over dirt smog infested brown stuff.

This weekend however I traded both for a land I have never seen before. I am use to snow. Spending time in both western ny and new england snow is a norm. And mountains, I have seen mountains driven up in mt. Washington in nh. Someone recently reminded me that we from the east have no idea what mountains really are. Of course, I disagreed. Well, I hate to admit it.. but they were right.. Both visually, and physically. This whole elevation thing... U2 had it right.. woohoo...

Now, for the next 2 weeks I will be preparing for yet another adventure.

PS. I have the best land people ever : )

I will be heading to Kenya. I can't believe this is actually happening. So, whom ever is out there reading this. Please pray... I can't wait to meet the people and dance and sing, and pet the lions. ( ok ok, I won't.. but I will want to.) and see what new thing God has for me. That verse from Isaiah has been very prominent in my life.. my version, is get a grip, move forward for see, I ( God) am doing a new thing in and through you...

thanksgiving

so it's here, Thanksgiving. I can't believe how different life is and where i am typing this from. God is good and i love the way He leads. I think this is the first time in my 29 years of life that tomorrow really is just another day. Usually by now i will have arrived home, had breakfast at susies stoped at Starbucks with tara after school and eric is showing up and we are having cheese.... we sit and enjoy cheese and crackers and cider for a few mins. and then back at it with the cooking. Dad and bruce  and eric go count the kettles and the girls hit the kitchen. This year i won't be baking pies or eating at susies... please don't feel sad, i am in San Francisco, where it's not cold. Wait, yes this mornings 39 degrees felt awfully familiar. this year i will be some where else and it just doesn't meant the same. but, i have realize how much the Lord has blessed me with such a wonderful family. yes, we have our stories.. i will never enjoy roseville, CA but.. i'm over it  :)
but i have parents who love us.. and my brothers and sister who are awesome.
So, i am thankful for the family i have, the blessings God has lavished on us.. i am thankful for friends.. i am thankful for December 23 and contential airlines : )

So, cheers to a new way of celebrating Thanksgiving....

i think it's fall

So, I think its suppose to be fall. I can't tell because it's 94 degrees here and palm trees don't change color. Fall is my favorite season. Growing up in the northeast it's the time that life seems to be in perfect harmony. The leaves change, families go apple picking and everything is warm and cozy. It seems like all family discords disappear and everyone just is celebrating the goodness of life. Here in SF we have the pumpkin spice latte, and heck we have the largest pumpkin in the us apparently. But, it's not even close to that warm cozy feeling. In fact all the 'normal' i grew up with and learned to appreciate seems to be squashed. Family doesn't mean what I learned it to mean.. I can't go apple picking because we don't have apple trees, and there is something not even remotely romantic about artichoke picking. ha
So i just needed to say that i miss fall, the ocean views I get daily are brilliant.. but i miss my leaves...
